Ok, I already passed the Series 7 exam (stock broker) and gotten my real estate broker's license... I'm sort of bored right now and down from getting dumped by a girl, so I wanna preoccupy myself..

Just out of curiosity, how hard is it? I've seen the test prep exams at book stores and it seems pretty easy..

Are there any other computer exams out there that can be taken? And please don't say CISCO CERTIFIED *******... Those exams are the ULTIMATE in difficultly... not to mention, MCSE exams..

I'll be taking it in about 2 months. I hear the Hardware portion is cake and the software is a bit harder.

Costs $390. But then again, that's nothing considering how much you spent on janet ;)

there are some facts you need to crack a book for in order to know... I wouldn't be overconfident. A $25 A+ For Dummies book helped me.

All the COMPTIA exams are reasonably easy so long as you brush up.

By itself it'll get you a job installing memory and hard drives at Joy Happy Luck Computers, but yeah, that's about it. But like everything else, it means a lot more coupled with experience - and if you can get one with a minimum of cost and effort, why not? I'm always surprised at the number if IT people I meet who know little or nothing about hardware - having a the A+ might just give you a little edge on the rest of the herd.

It helped me get my foot in the door to my internship back in 2001 (the interview was 3 hours). Fast forward to today, still with the same company and making good money

I disagree it depends on the person I had two years experiance at a mobile pc repair company and an A+
I now work for a company for which I manage and maintain over 2000 systems, antivirus for the entire network amongst other things.

I had an interview at IBM for a coop....My friend, who cooped there and was one of the people who interviewed me, said that it was between me and another one of my friends. Who got the job, my other friend. why? He had his A+ cert., while I did not have one. I knew more than the othe person too, but my friend said that I could know more, but no cert means no proof. Fvckin IBM....

Don't forget to stick out your left hand if you need to take a potty break...

:D

I'd like to see a girl certification course in which you have to be trained on how to interact with the opposite sex. We can call it Estrogen 101. That way you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on dates, just whip out your certification and say "Hey baby, I'm certified"
