OK, I made the switch finally...now what?

I pretty much feel like a jerk. I spent a wad of cash for this thing called Windows XP, brought it home and installed it, and now I sit here shrugging my shoulders thinking "Yeah? So?". I was using Win98 (non SE) for years. Never complained. It would lock up now and then but I never got pissy over having my surfing or gaming interupted. I guess I did it just for the sake of keeping up with the Jones'. I've heard the rumors of MS cutting the cord with Win98 soon so it's probably a good thing I bought XP, but I guess I was just expecting more than just prettier icons. 😉

You're getting a LOT more than prettier icons. You're getting a filesystem with user level permissions; you're getting individual user profiles; you're getting protected memory space; you're getting the option of keeping your files encrypted on disk; you're getting a built-in firewall; the list goes on. What the heck do you want it to do . . . make coffee?

Make coffee? Nah, but if it could make my bed for me that'd be nice. 😉

I guess it does give me a lot more than 98 did. But, you know the old saying...You can't miss it it if you've never had it.
