I downloaded some software after the installation, such as AOL Instant Messenger. I supposedly installed it but I can't find it. I'm using KDE. In case you can't already tell I'm new to Linux. Any help?😕

the binary is in /usr/local/bin it is called aim . You can just type 'aim' in the terminal, or create a shortcut to it on the desktop. Either way, the command is simply "aim" (minus the quotes). I don't use KDE, but creating shotcuts is very similar to windows.

EDIT: the whereis command comes in handy too.

whereis, and locate (remember to update the database for locate) are nice .. just hit the "run" menu, and type 'aim' .. have fun and enjoy linux ..
