ok I haven't mailed a letter in 2 years. is the postage .37 or .39

arghhh. I'm gonna tape 2 more pennies on the envelope and the post office is going to take it and like it. It's gonna be a pain to go to the post office for a .02 stamp.

Yep it went up by 2 cents to .39 from .37.
It will also go up by another 2 cents on July 1st. They broke the .04 hike up into 2 parts as some congressmen wanted to save some money and get their flyers out as polls have shown support for the current congress very low. So .02 first then another .02 on July 1st. That way they can use the same .02 stamp. So remember two 2 cent stamps later this year for old stamps or just another 1 2cent stamp with the anew stamp.

BS

this should answer your question 🙂.

well I had .37 stamp and some found some .80 stamps laying around. I guess the post office gets a .41 windfall from me.

... I've sent 4 letters in the past week with the $.37 stamps on them. I didn't even know the increase happened already. I thought they usually ran a few months with transitional stamps that cost the amount of the old ones but work for the same as the new or something...

It was funny to see people standing in a humongous line at the post office just to get $.02 stamps.

I hope not. One of them was a student loan payment due on Monday. 🙁

You'd think a postman with a walking route would check for that as he gets them and they'd still be the mailbox. :-\

Nope they usually juts grab it through them in the bag and keep moving. No time to check for postage or address's. Thats what the station does.

Of course a .37 stamp with no return address will probable get there. 😉
