well...the reason i ask, is i used part of a component video cable to run composite signal out of my cable box...and i get no video...if i have to change the cable i have to spend 2 hours tearing everything down again :(

i'm just wondering if i should look elsewhere for my problem

godammit!

i connected the cable to the video out instead of in :|

oh well, i just connected an s-video cable instead anyway

and now i may as well run my RCAs upstairs so i can play the same content from my HTPC up there as well

at least it wasn't a total waste

If you're asking if you are running component cables from a receiver to a TV, but also have some composite video you want to plug into the receiver and have go to the TV, it's probably a crapshoot.

I've seen s-video signals go through components just fine, but personally, my receiver will not take an s-video signal and send it through the component monitor out.
