Nelmster-this thread and the one that you are referencing are abou two distinctly different things. You are talking about the 3 pin header that is used for RPM monitoring fans that plug into the motherboard. punkkloser is referring to fans that use the normal 4 pin plug that is used by your hard drives, cd-roms, etc. The people who posted that using y-adapters on 3 pin plugs would be bad are correct, with two fans plugged into the fan header on a motherboard it would more than likely overdraw the header and fry it. It would also invalidate the RPM monitoring function of the fans which in my opinion is the only reason to plug fans in through the MoBo anyway. Using Y-adapters on the 4 pin connectors is perfectly fine. In fact that is more or less how there are as many coming out of your power supply anyway, one 12V 5V and 2 ground lines are connected to many different power leads.
