It would power on but no video or anything. The mobo is a Epox 5EPAJ. The videocard is a aGeforce 6600 256 mb. I tried hooking my new mobo up to my old power supply I noticed the power hookup on my new mobo is bigger than the power plug coming from my power supply. I hooked it up anyway and it powered up but that's it...no bios or anything.

I assume I have an old outdated power supply? There were actually two power hookups on my new mobo..the big one and a small square one. here is a scanned pic form my mobo's manual about the power hookups.

Um, yeah... you power supply is a 20 pin, which you would need 24 pin, and you should buy a converter. You also need that 4 pin 12v square shaped plug too.

No.

Hook the 4 pin to the 4 pin square. on the other side.
and just plug the 20 pin as you do usually...

Some people got it to work 😕

I had the same problem when I converted from socket A to socket 754, I was too stupid to wait for 939 prices to drop. The board won't start up unless the auxiliary 4-prong connector is plugged in as well as the main power plug.

Just plug it in and try it. If it doesn't work check and see if your card has it's own 4-prong 12v plug, though I think those are only on the 7800 series.
