Altima is good if you just want a car .. G35 = LOVE

Plus some people need a nice car to boost their self confidence and to get action in the bed

G35 is LOVE until the second month when you realize it is just a car. If we were talking Ferraris I might agree.

<----also driver of unnamed sports car I wasted money on

I do agree with the second part though and the women folk do like them.

i dunno i test drove it, and loved it.

i think the main thing was well i've saved a ton of money, what the hell is it for unless you spend it. i'm 23, and its like eh why the hell not. not gonna get another chance to be irresponsible. someday ill have a family to support or something and being reckless wont be ok.

That I can relate to however do you own a house? If yes by all means get it. Car = depreciating asset.

House > Car

yeah i know im not going to defend the pretty financially bad decision. i know its a bad decision. i jus twant the car much more than the house, i've got plenty of time to save.

Look I'm not trying to run your life cause I don't know you and don't care but even if you bought a run down house in the ghetto it would be the best decision you will ever make. I certainly wish I had instead of buying nice cars. Luckily I caught on earlier than most. That house will net you the ability to get nicer cars in the future if you play your cards right.

Oh and there is never enough time to save.

Plenty of time? I bought my house at 26. I can't beleive that 2.5 years later, I'm sitting on 240K equity and living in a house I could never dream of affording.

Houses will gain in value. A car will drop. I know a lot of people who, even with two incomes, will never be able to afford a house in California because home prices are going up faster than wages.

If you're living with your parents in Lousiana, then, I guess you've got nothing to lose. 😉 Still, the G35 wll get the chick in the car, but how's she gonna react when you roll up to mom and dad's house?

WTF? Hell no. Also deal with the 405? No WAY. I must admit a house should be more important than a car. If you have a car that runs well, why bother getting a new one. Save up for the house.

Heh. Cars can't buy love. Money can't buy love. And G35s are so omnipresent these days, it won't turn any heads. I KNOW I get more looks in my 1992 Miata with the top down than I ever would in some G35.

Unless we're talking Ferraris, Porsches, or Astons, buy something that is reliable, satisfies your needs, won't put you into debt, and can put a smile on your face from time to time.

I have been looking at two cars for quite some time. On the cheap side, a loaded Mazda 3S for $19K or a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited for $29K on the high side. As much as I love the Subie, I can't help but think I could satisfy my needs with the Mazda AND have a year of grad school paid for with the money saved.

In the end, a car is just about the worst investment possible. Better to put your money into somethat that will appreciate. You won't regret it.

ever wonder why they are looking at you???

Every time I see a ghuy(sic) driving a miata, unless they are going to an autox event for which they are probably an enjoyable vehicle, I am not thinking "wow, what a nice ride for that cool dude" I usually presume that his wife is driving his mini-van and he has to go get the milk in her car.

New cars are overrated. I drive new cars everyday, it lost its appeal at the end of the second week. Now I take the train.

I'd like to get a Ford GT, but I believe they are sold out for quite some time (several month waiting time for order). I could drive it for 6 months, sell it on ebay and still come out ahead. Its a nice car, its fast, affordable and has great resale value. Unfortunately there is some debate if this car qualifies for A plan, I'm guessing probably not.
