So it takes 5 chimpanzees to finally get my internet hooked up. So for a day and a half everything is smooth. All of a sudden late in afternoon today, from work, i see my name at home log off AIM... Ok, I say network may be down. I email my g/f to see whats up but the emails keep bouncing back on all email accounts saying user does not exist, name not found.

So i call comcast, and they cant FIND my username, WTF!

They said they have to have the computer name to progress further, i wasnt at home so i didnt know that offhand, but WHAT IN THE HELL can be wrong?????? It's only been hooked up one day!!

Shouldn't take long? Ok hows this for f'd up.

I spoke to them last night and demanded i NOT be in the qeue on the bottom as they said it could take DAYS. I spoke to a supervisor and assured me he would bump me to the top. YA RIGHT.

Anyway, come morning my cable modem is still not working and they said all they have to do is re-provision it....

They took the modem serial # and mac #. Well hour later they say they have tried everything on their end, and the best thing to do is to come AGAIN for the 6th f'n time and replace the modem and that should clear everything up.

Does this make any f'n sense?!?!?!

I've spent many hours with the cable guy fixing sh1t over here. Just bitch and you'll get free service, at least for a month or two!

I hear ya, they billed me $10 too much for no apparent reason this month (which of course I have no intention of paying).

The installer should have left a sheet of paper with your system name. Check the package that should have also been left.

You picked a bad time to get cable. Comcast is busy moving current users from the @home network to comcast.net . I called to see if I could return my leased modem and have the one I bought put on my account, and the person I talked to advised me to wait until I was on the new system, because their records are a mess, and I could end up with no service.

Hey, I didn't say everyone was going to have problems. It's hardly nonsense since you are still without service for something that should have taken them less than 10 minutes to fix. Good luck.
