The deleted one of my domains because apparently someone hacked into my site and gained 'elevated access', or whatever the hell that means....

No warning, no word, i didnt even have any idea this was happening.....

He deleted ALL my files, and told me i can NEVER run that domain on my site ever again..... WTF

Double check their terms and conditions / conditions of use, make sure you have some evidence of what they were, as of today.

If they dont have anything saying they can do that, tell them you had classified information on a governement conspiracy or the existance of aliens, then sue them, tell them to fvck off when your done, or get them to supply you with a lifetime of free hosting etc etc

Aphex... I've worked with DaThorn quite extensively... and believe me, if they did something to you, then either you or one of your subordinates deserved it. Think about it... If you were running a server that hosted hundreds of domains, and found out that just one domain had been compromised, but that compromisation allowed elevated access to anything, then what would you do?

I know that I am 100% sure that I would immediately remove the entire domain. I'm sorry... I almost always agree with the customer on issues like this... and for that matter, with you on most things, but on this one... I think DaThorn was right.

It was MY domain... Not one of my customers....

I had ONE script running on it (clientexec, a billing script), and only i could access it (there wasnt a link to it on my site), all i had up currently was a dummy index.html (with only my logo) and a few html files in there...

I find it very peculiar you ran ClientExec on it since Dathorn specifically DOES NOT support Ioncube. Did you install Ioncube yourself somehow? I too am running ClientExec but not on Dathorn. In fact, this was *they* primary reason I moved. I have no other complaints with them. Great pricing, FAST FAST FAST speeds.

I am closing my dathorn account within the next few weeks and moving everything to ThrillHost.com and Idologic.com
smart moves. but stay away from thrillhost's ensim windows servers. ensim has too many things to workaround with.

If I may ask. Why are you moving?

Several reasons which I'd rather not go into further detail about.

Dozens of AT'ers are happy dathorn clients and I'm sure that they will continue to be.

Fortunately my account was on cp05 and not affected by some recent events.

GtPrOjEcTX - Perhaps ThrillHost.com should consider switching to the Helm Windows control panel?
