OK how does this sound as a kinda mid range gaming rig

right ive jus started my new job as a life guard...and after the tax man has finished beating me black and blue with his cheque book i can begin to build a new computer this is what i am aiming at

A64 3000
1Gig of ram.....unsure bout what speed etc
Asus K8Vse deluxe
2x samsung spinpoint sata drives
zalman cooler thingy
Antec P160

thats the basics

now, i am still unsure what the A64 has in the way of system bus.....does it have a regular FSB? reason i ask is this i have been told that i should buy ram faster than 3200 if i want to overclock, and that CAS timings dont matter too much because of the on die memory controller of the A64.

so if i bought pc4000 ram, then it would simply be run in a ration with the system bus, and then i would have fast ram waiting on the system to deliver?

this rig will be mainly for games an i am aiming for a 9800pro region of graphics.

Technically speaking the A64s FSB is its clockspeed, because the memory controller is on die.

so is there anything to gain buy simply putting faster than pc3200 ram in? (as in with out fiddling with anyhtin in bios, jus slotting it in a leaving it do its business)

i was told that adding say PC4400 would merit no advantage less i was going to overclock
