I'm getting a removable hd tray, so I can bring my work form home to work. I have a 52x cd-rom and a cd-rw on the same ide cable, I have my 20.5gig hard drive on it's own cable, I don't want to put the removable hard on the same cable just because I'm going to be using an old ATA 33 hard drive and I don't want it to slow down my 20.5gig. Should I get one of those Hotrod 100 cards from abit? How much do they cost and do they reduce performence? I don't use many pci slots so I don't mind if one is used up.

What would you guys sujest I do?

Yeah I know I should have gotten the Raid version buy on one on this board had one for sale and it would of cost a fortune if I would of bought it off of a company cus I'm in canada.

Just woundering if I should get the raid for just the plan ata 100 verions of the card? Also does it decrease performence if it's not onboard?

jsbush,

I don't know if it would be the same thing but let me just say one thing, you get what you pay for. Spend the money for what you want to do. The Promise cards are great, everyone I know that owns one, loves it. Sometimes you have to spend a little extra money to get the performance the way it's supposed to be.

Edit: Opps the raid version is $70 and it does come with cables. Is the non raid version that is only $30 deliver good performence? I don't need raid.
