OK HELP ME linksys WMP54G

OK I usually cnet speed test my fast little behind at around 3 megabits a sec, and now that I just installed this card that's dropped to 1 megabit. granted i'm runnin off a 802.11b router, that shouldn't matter, cause 802.11 is, well, 11 megabits a sec lol theoretically*** so come on anandtech guys, what setting am I missin, what did I do wrong.

802.11b averages between 2-6Mbps, your 1Mbps sounds like its hitting some interference.
