OK, Have lost audio on friends computer

Hi all,

Onboard VIA 97 sound. I have reinstalled drivers. I have checked all connections. I have checked all players to see if the are on Mute. Went to Control Panel/Sound and made sure everything was on. Speakers are hooked up and make a sound so I know the speakers are fine. Any help would be appreciated.

As said, went out and bought a Sound Card just to test. (Mad dog 6-channel). While installing drivers it says that the path is missing. Please give a path. HUH? NOt sure what is going on. Am I missing some Windows file?

Check device manager to see if there is any kind of a conflict.

Try wiggling & turning the phono plug in the jack. Barring that, you seem to have tried pretty much everything, my guess is it just went bad. Even with working onboard sound I'd suggest a decent sound card Or at the very least a $10 sb live! card.
