Hello

Just upgraded from a stock AMD HSF to AX-7 and smart case fan2. I installed the fan with rubber spacers that came with the AX-7 so there is a 1/4" gap in between. Seems like a pretty big gap. Just wondering if it has any impact on cooling efficiency?

Temp on my 1600+ has already dropped about 10C to 45C so it is working a lot better than stock HSF, just wondering if I installed it correctly.

Thanks.

I had the same concernes when I recieved my 2 AX-7's about mounting them with the standoffs but the way you installed them is correct. They perform better with this configuration.

sihostk, I like farmercal, was concerned w/ the spacing gap, but after trial and error, using the rubber spacers gave me better results, hope this helps :)

Thanks for replies. I'll leave them the way they are now.
I also used AS3 as to regular white paste from the stock HSF so that probably helped a little too.
AX-7 is great HS with lots room to overclock later.
