ok have a dell laptop that is running "slower"

any way to fix this? or my only option to format and reinstall?

the laptop (not mine btw) wouldnt let the orginal owner format and reinstall saying the version was newer then the one she was trying to put on. WTF is that? never ran into t hat before.

so any ideas?
 
if you try and open up a windows CD within a current install, it will not let you reinstall (IE, opening a win2k cd in XP will tell you that XP is newer). gotta boot from the CD

i have a friend who has a dell laptop that has been running slower for certain things. there's no spyware or viruses or anything like that on it. thats kinda weird.
