So, I have two 470 cards. One is a galaxy with Fermi, and the other is an evga. I am trying to sli these two cards with windows 7. I am using the nvidia drivers (latest from their site) and the control panel to set the sli. Every time I set it, it just freezes.

Im at a loss here. I have tried several different configs, and i dont know what to do anymore. I need a bit of assistance from you experts.

Thanks!

Reverse card locations. They will be redetected and drivers will be reloaded. Give that a try first.

Maybe install the drivers with only one card present, and the add the other card. Or if this is how you did it the first time, try installing the drivers with both cards installed.

Ive done both of those. The funny thing is, it works, up until i enable sli, then it freezes, and wont do a thing. I mean lock down.

Good thing to try is toss both of them in another machine (if there's one available that is). Go over to a friends house and try it. If it works there, then you know it's software related on your end and not the HW

Got an extra hard drive laying around? If so, use it to do a fresh Win 7 64 bit install (Without registering it. Good for 30 days) with all updated drivers for your mobo and latest NV driver from their site. Sound drivers, etc.

I take it you've tried each card independently and they work fine?
Does your SLI bridge look like it has any sort of damage? creases if it's the ribbon type, or loose solder connections if it's the rigid PCB type (eVGA usually ships with the rigid type).

If you have the extra drive, I'd give that a try. If the cards work in SLI, then it points to your current configuration somehow. If they don't, then one of the cards is probably faulty.

Since this motherboard has 3 different bioses, we just switched the bios to the first one, updated the firmware on the cards, and boom, it works.

Independently, they would work fine. Together they would work fine. However, as soon as I enabled sli it would just stop. Nothing would work. Ended up having to do a hard reset to get the machine to come back up.

Guess we should have updated all of the firmwares on the cards prior to trying the sli config, as I believe that was the answer. Thanks for all of your suggestions...
