My a drive does not work at all. Tragic tale of a three year old and a crayon, I don't want to get into it here though. ;)

Denilfloss sent me the files, but it is still looking for the a drive when I run setup. I need to know, is there anyway for me to join this without a floppy drive? And then how do I go about joining the Borg group? And I am kind of computer illiterate, so please no big computer lingo. Thanks for the help! :)

GF,

Assuming you are running Windows 95 or newer, and assuming Denis sent you the "standard" dialup version, open up Windows Explorer. Go to the directory where you have the set of files stored, and RIGHT click the "setup.bat" file. From the drop-down menu, select "edit".

Change the following two lines:

copy a:\*.* c:\rc5
copy a:\dnet.lnk c:\windows\startm~1\programs\startup

To look like this:

copy C:\directory\*.* c:\rc5
copy C:\directory\dnet.lnk c:\windows\startm~1\programs\startup

"directory" is the name of whatever folder you put the files in. Save the file, then run it.

Russ, NCNE

Russ, I sent her that one: the standard version indeed.

"Win32 for dialup connections
(Specific for TA Cube)

Since these disks are completely pre-configured, this installation is as simple as can be.:) Just download the appropriate zip file, extract to a floppy, run the setup.bat file, and you're done! What could be easier?

Standard (visible) version "
I have included a text copy of your fix in that folder in case someone else I send it too has a similar problem.

Ok, I did what you said Russ, and it worked beautifully. I now have the little cow icon in my task bar. Thank you so much, I appreciate it. :)

So now this is all set up to work under your team, right DF? Or do I need to do something else?

Welcome to the team Girlfriday!!!

Good to hear that you have joined the team. The only thing I would ask is are you "Cracking" under your Email address or for a mini team?

Good luck!!!

GF,

It's all setup to add your blocks to TA Cube and therefore to team Anandtech. Nothing else needs to be done AFAIK. If you go click on my name in the list of Integrals, you will see your PC figuring proudly amongst my herd.

Wooooooooooooooo Moooooooooooooooo and thank you for your support. :)

Welcome GF!

Now - how many people do YOU know with a computer?

You've seen how easy it is.... with your looks and charm - should be a piece of cake..

My looks and charm DanC? With statements like that, you must have a lot of people doing this for you. ;) But I will see if I can get some people doing this. :)

Woohoo, I get Cracker Jacks. Now that makes it all worthwhile. ;)
