Ok, like i said in other threads i am building a budget system (canada prices)

I switched back and forth between video cards 50 times, i was gonna get the x700, then the 7300gs, then the x1600, then the 7600gs...

I read every review i can find, i made like 20 threads here about it, and now my wife agree's, she knows what kind of gamer i am, playing world of warcraft 10 hours a day sometimes, etc(with her by my side :p )

Now i have these questions, because after speaking with the wife, i am now getting the 7600GT for my gaming budget build, this is the system, please, no more suggestions on more expensive stuff, the 7600GT is enough, lol.

AMD athlon 64 3500+ 2.2ghz venice core
A8N5X asus mobo (pci-e, s939, etc)
1gig ddr400 pc3200 ram
maxtor 160gig HD 8mb 7200rpm
all in one LG drive (dvd/cd)

now, my questions.

keep in mind i wont do SLI mode, or overclocking, not into that stuff.

1: how well will a 7600gt work with my new system?

2: My new case seems really well ventilated, it has a big grill in the front with a fan, few other fans i think, plus i bought a 120mm blue led fan for extra coolness, so would i worry about the 7600gt getting too hot? in alot of reviews people say it gets hot, but thats mostly the GS, not GT.

3: is it really worth it over the 7600GS? if ill be playing games like oblivion, half life 2, etc?

4: the connecter on the back of the GT looks different then my dell monitor plug, it doesnt look like it will fit, does it matter? it seems a bit different.

5: which version is the best? how is the MSI version?

thats all, please reply, thanks in advance..

1. it'll work fine
2. I dont think i see where you posted what case you were actually getting, but you should be fine with heat. If it overheats, RMA it.
3. yes, it'll be worth it.
4. thats a DVI port. if you have a VGA port, the card most likely (99%) will come with a DVI->VGA adapter, so you're OK.
5. the versions wont be too different. Some companies overclock their cards by default. some have lifetime warranties.

Most 7600gt's will be the same, but some will have higher cpu and memory clocks out of the box.

EVGA probably has the best reputation among the Nvidia card makers.

Jaton perhaps has the worst.

Yeah.. 450watts is okay.. I've seen some people and friend of mine have 7600GT in their Dell E510 that only have 305watts PSU out of the box so it shouldn't be a problem.

Go w/ the 7600GT man, your pci-e slot has enough juice to power up the card :). I'm planning to get one for myself too for my 5150 pc :p

1. The 7600GT should work fine with your system

2. The 7600GT doesn't get that hot and the fan will be able to take care of it. just make sure that you don't get a "dead spot" where the heat is stuck there.

3. it is worth it. the difference is not that big in price but it does offer better performance.

4. That is because it is a DVI connector and your monitor probablly has a DB-15 or VGA connector. your graphic card will come with an adaptor.

5. the EVGA version is considered the best due to the great warranty.

BTW, don't mean to be rude and i do see that you're new, but there is a Video section just for these things.

make sure you have ample amps on the 12v rail.
Also don`t scrimp $$$ wise on your PSU!
