How do I delete the email????

I am not opening the outlook express. I downloaded the symantec and it said that it did not find beagle on my computer.

All my emails are forwarded to yahoo mail and i confirmed that it is a beagle virus.
dam@

um. highlight the email and hit the "delete" key.

Also, you CAN open the email itself, just DO NOT open the file attached to it. All the email says is "Hi, test, etc etc". There's nothing harmful from reading email, just the attachments that need to be watched out for.

I haven't received any of these yet... I've flamed so many people for sending emails with "forward this and Bill Gates will give you a gadzillion dollars" and "forward this or goats will their way with your dead body" that those people all finally took me off their mailing lists... and those are the people who seem to be most likely to open unknown .exe attachments.

I actually have an e-mail filter set up that blocks anything with more than one FW: in it and sends a message back that says "This is a forward of a forward. If it wasn't worth the time it takes to cut and paste it isn't worth the time it takes for me to delete it manually."

i dont see the point of this virus.. Information on Symantec says that all this virus does is tries to spread itself through email and web sites.

It doesn't do any damage, or really even show itself. So there's no credit or anything. It just spreads itself until a certain date and then it's done.

What's the point of that?

If everyone left it unchecked, then the traffic it would generate going backwards/forwards over the net, especially with a couple of week's worth of forwards/replies, it will choke things up pretty quickly.

Before I did stuff like that with an old version of Outlook Express, something like 4.5 or so. It had an option to send a saved message back to the sender in the filter options. I guess from what you guys are saying it isn't in the newer versions. It may be an Outlook-only thing now, who knows. Personally I don't think the coolness factor of doing that is worth opening up your computer to every hacker and their uncle by using OE.

At the moment I do it with Thunderbird, though the problem is I can't remember how I've done it. (I'm at school right now so I can't check) It may have been a plugin, or it might be in Thunderbird's advanced options. I'll check into it when I get home. Let's hope I don't forget how I did it like I forgot how I got Winamp 2.09 to play all my RealMedia files. 😛

I saw several Hi emails in my hotmail account. Good thing hotmail marked them as bulk/spam mail. Just hit the empty folder button and its all gone. lol

For starters, I agree with the Darwinism idea. I'm kind of curious, SSP, why not using POP3 makes you immune to opening .EXE attachments? I prefer using common sense, myself.
