Hahahaha! I wonder if they'll change that?

If it looks fine while playing, though...no complaints.

LOL! That's sad, but the game is in early stage anyways. It seems like Polyphony is focusing on the car models rather than the backgrounds at the moment, they are rather dull at current stage.

That probably sums it up. But OMFG, PGR4 looks amazing.

Yeah, hopefully they pull it all together and make a great wheel as well.

Ya know, if you guys are gonna be looking at trees whilst driving, I will never ride in a car with y'all. :)

Heh, it doesn't look bad from the ground level. It is just a programming trick so that they can use more polygons/horsepower on the cars and tracks. You'll never notice unless you do a helicopter view...though that will likely break the illusion as it does somewhat in this picture. I think I heard that GT5 is also using bitmapped backgrounds/sky as well.

PGR4 is using dynamically generated backgrounds/weather and a middleware program called SpeedTree to dynamically create all of its foliage. But, I don't think PGR4 is even going to be 60fps like GT5 is shooting for.

It's all about trade-offs on what the devs are wanting to do with the hardware they have.
