ok, so they tell you to write out a taylor series to estimate (1.1)^(1/5) to the 4 decimal places... then they bust out an A and a B for the remainder theorem (if you've taken this or are taking, you know what i mean)... ok, so how do they pick the A and B? they picked 0 for A, and .1 for B... they just seem like random numbers... wtf? anyone able to help me out here?

you solve this problem like 1^1/5 with the difference from the real value to be .1 (denoted by B- ie 1.1-1=.1). after that, you do some crap with the .1 before adding it into the the original 1^1/5 in order to get the estimate for 1.1^1/5. i took this class 3 semesters ago, so i can't really remember that well.
