I just changed to an AMD 900 t-bird on a Abit KT7 mobo from an P3-600E on an BX-Master board. My question is the graphics seem to be less than impresive. On Quake 3 the graphics are close to before but on Unreal the graphics are very poor.I have a geforce 256 32ddr video card with nvidia 618 driver. Is there that much difference between Intel and AMD on video performance? Should I use a different drivers with AMD? I wanted to see how the AMD chipset performed. How can I get the best graphics on this system?
Thanks,
Sully

Maybe I can help:
Do you think that performance degraded or picture quality or both? Q3A is a highly fill rate limited game.
Did you install the latest AGP drivers for your board?

All I know is when I got my new Voodoo 5 (i know you got new chip but just bear with me) I installed all the latest drivers and it sucked so much ass i was about to open my comp back up and get a refun. Then I explored the little menu (in Half-Life but its same thing basiclly) called Configuration ----> Video Modes and Options. Changed my Video Card to Open GL and clicked on the little drop down menu for Voodoo's, say hello beautiful and smooth graphics, not to mention 70 FPS
