So ... Where did I screw up??
Incompatibilities?
Any parts not going to work or not work right?
Am I missing anything important?

Thanks for all the help in choosing parts and giving advice. :)

EDIT - BTW, I was shooting for around $1250 ... and this will end up being near $1300 ... perfect for me.

i dislike the 9600.. but if you only do light gaming its pretty good i guess :pbtw when u get it, set the mem onto the "1:1 (ddr200) divider", and put the cpu voltage to 1.6 for total stabilty, and set fsb to 290.. :D

That's almost my EXACT setup, I'd go with the 3000+ if you plan to overclock, cheaper then the 3200+ and it'll go just as high.

No plans to overclock currently ... (wouldn't even know how to) ... maybe later if everything works out ok.

Azzy, I barely understand half of what you said. :D ... When It's all here and I'm putting it together, I'll come back and you can tell me what it all means. lol

You should... the board your getting has a ton of OC'ing features.

You should get a cheaper s939 board if you don't plan to OC.

Well, I'd like to ... but I thought I'd hold off in part because there's alot that I'm still learning ... I figured if I got a good board, I could upgrade/OC later.
Plus, I was pretty happy getting that board for around $125 ... especially with the free Wireless Card that came with it. (Don't know if that card is any good, but it was free, so ... :))

And out of curiosity ... is there anything in particular that's wrong with the Video Card?
I do game, but not "seriously" ... most importantly I guess, will it play World of Warcraft?! ;)

yes, it will. probably not on highest settings, but it will. with all mmorpgs, once youve got a decent video card, the more RAM the better.

I'm not sure if it will play World of Warcraft because i'm more of a nVidia guy. The video card is not one of the more popular one. There is awesome 9800 PRO card that you can get cheap. Here is the link if you wan't to look at it.

Hey Azzy64 i like ur setup.
I just got a 3000+ (939) and im waiting for the restock of MSI Neo 2 on Newegg... I thought this board was the only one that could get me anywhere close to fsb 290...
Did u get to that far with ur own Asus?

Is there any links to reviews of this Asus board doing that kind of overclock?

And also what is ur RAM speed set to, and FSB:RAM ratios there?
