this is a copy/paste of a PM dialog between me and said potential buyer:

Him: You know what, ill pass, no offense but i just interpreted your msg to be a little rude. 07/10/2003 3:38 PM
Me: so were u still interested in buying it? 07/10/2003 1:37 PM

Him: thanks. 07/10/2003 11:56 AM

Me: eh, didnt u read my PM, i know it was long but all the info u needed was in there. 07/10/2003 10:29 AM
Him: cross ship is fine, my heatware is in my sig, what is your under? 07/10/2003 9:57 AM

Me: hey, i've got a Fortron/FSP (aka Sparkle) 350 watt psu that i could sell to you for $30 shipped. it's less than 4 months old, and i even changed the fan to a quieter one. ill include the original 80mm fan as well so u can wire it back up if need be or just use it for something else. only prob is that im out of town right now on vacation and i wont be back until saturday. i can ship the psu out on monday if you can pay me by sunday. non-cc paypal is preferred., and my heatware is under EY2K. thanks.

BTW, you have to read this from bottom to top since its like that in the PM history. Now explain how I came off as being rude??? This guy must have a Richard Simmons personailty-complex or something. Thank you for your time. I just had to vent since this rubbed me the wrong way. :\

Not terribly rude, but would it have been a big deal to just reply with your heatware name again? It would have taken you less time than typing out what you did.

The guy is just a pussy:

Me: eh, didnt u read my PM, i know it was long but all the info u needed was in there. 07/10/2003 10:29 AM

That's probably where he got offended. Screw him, there are other buyers out there

exactly. i could see how if you were REALLY REALLY insecure you could perceive that as rude OR he's just using that as an excuse to say he doesn't wanna buy it.

either way he's a pussy.

I've learned that sometimes it just isn't worth fighting with someone to show that you are right. Rather than typing out a whole sentence saying "it was in my last message" just type out your heatware name. It's even less typing...

I can smell his vagina from here. Anyone that pussified will end up giving you problems somewhere down the line.

I base my trades somewhat off of personality of the person. I'll admit, even if someone has good heat I can be hesitant to ship before recieving payment. If a seller has a better and friendlier tone, it makes me feel better about the deal in general.

What you said easily could have come off as snotty and given him a bad feeling about the whole deal, but I likely would have done buisness with you because of the 67 heatware evals. Howveer, some traders on here are just downright nasty.

not necessarily, he could have thought, well this potential buyer is too lazy to read my pm so he might ask me 3 or 4 more questions, let's just have him reread what i sent him BEFORE he asks me more.

btw, it isn't rude. telling the truth isn't necessarily rude.

I agree. If you are in FS/T, you are being a salesperson; if you want to sell your stuff, you've got to be polite. That's IMHO, of course. I probably wouldn't have gotten offended, but given the opportunity to trade with someone else who hadn't said that, I would trade with the personality that seemed nicer.

the reply had a mildly dickish tone to it. in all honesty, if i was the buyer and the item wasn't something expensive or something i had a dire need for, i'd consider calling off the deal too.

i agree, if ur in a store looking for something u dont really need, would u buy from a salesperson that gave u a similar response to a question u asked twice?
