Ok, time to vent a little.

What happened on Tuesday was tragic. I can understand the need for the media to report on this issue for a day, and then keep us on top of the events as they come about. I just cannot understand why they continue to give us the same news we heard about 3 days ago. NBC is still showing the same videotape, playing the same sound bytes, and giving the same analysis. They continue to bring in new people to give their side of the stories and such. In my opinion, it is getting really repetitive.

Time to go back to regularly scheduled programming. Update the viewers when you have actual news to report. Lets stop the endless line of people giving their opinions on what happened. I want to know what actually happened just as much as everyone else does, but I don't want to hear 100 people give their opinions on it. Lets stick to the facts, return to normal TV programming, and let us continue on with our lives and let the healing process begin.

(I hope the TV stations return to programming today, I don't know though cause I am at work)

Also, I hear a lot of professional atheletes slamming the management of their sports for being so slow in canceling sporting events for the weekend. Don't get me wrong, but I think it is the right thing to do. Airlines aren't running, so it is going to be hard for atheletes to get to the cities where they are playing. Aside from the travel restrictions, some atheletes just are not ready to play after this devastating attack. I know, as a viewer, I want to see the best the atheletes can give.

Just my 2 cents.:|:disgust:

ya nightfall i kinda agree w/ you. i understand the NFL cancelling cause it was their first game after the tragedy, they had to do something.

as the the MLB cancellin and Mark Macquire statements. The MLB just cancelled this weekend cause the NFL cancelled. i thought they shoulda played starting today.

Mark Macquire was just posturing, he's sooo full of it. he annoys the hell out of me . . . end of rant.

Some of it is because we want to keep apprised of the situation and some is sensationalitic journalism.

I'm with you, there has been roughly enough news to fill up one 1 hour segment since noon on tuesday yet I haven't seen anything BUT news on the disaster on NBC. More than one message board I go to has one forum that is filled with posts saying essentially the same thing in different ways.

I don't mean to seem heartless. But we need to move on, things didn't stop happening on tuesday. The ongoing problems are still going. The fires in the western states didn't put themselves out.

it's cause he was about to lose his hr thing to barry bonds.

when you look at all the comments he made about barry throughout the season you see how truly classless he is. if barry had said that kinda stuff about mark maguire SF fans woulda tarred and feathered barry, but cause its mark maquire saying it, it's ok. BS.

<< Mark Macquire was just posturing, he's sooo full of it. he annoys the hell out of me . . . end of rant. >>

<< McGwire launched into an impromptu state of the game speech before the decision to take the rest of the week off was made "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out sporting events are absolutely meaningless compared with what's going on in Washington and New York," McGwire said. "And why are people taking so long to make a decision, I have no idea." [/Q

Yeah....just TERRIBLE what he said isn't it????? Especially considering he had no idea they were going to cancel........They (MLB) canceled this weekend BECAUSE some teams completely refused to fly while other just had a few players whom said they would not fly with the team anywhere therefore the decsion was made!!

You can tell that the news sites are really stretching it thin. Heck when there was a slight bomb scare at the capitol building, the stayed there talking for the whole time talking to different congressmen and describing over and over again that there might be a bomb. Not to mention the parade of families of those lost on CBS was downright sickening how they would wait till the person cried or tried to ask as many personal questions until the family member cried (normally doing heavy close ups of the female of the group), then moving on quickly to the next group.

Call me heartless, but when you have news, tell me. If not, then move on. I don't need to know the political opinion of strategic strikes on middle eastern countries from a victim's former roomate in Jersey.

I agree. It is getting to be very repetitive and boring. They are beginning to ask everyone on there what attack they think we need to carry out. Who cares what attack Joe Blow thinks this warrants? Why do I care what strategy Joe Blow thinks we are going to deploy?

Normal programming. Maybe five minutes at top of each hour to discuss anything new.

agreed. How do they expect us to get on with our lives when they're altering things we're used to doing everyday(sports, regular news & tv shows, etc.) When they take these things away, the only thing to do IS think about the tragedy.

I am glad I am not the only one.

Some people at work got upset when I mentioned that the media is really dragging this along. I just don't understand the novelity of watching the same thing that happened 3 days ago on TV. One guy mentioned that I like to watch movies that I have already seen, and that is true because I love movies. However, I did say that I don't like to watch the same movie over and over again in a 3 day period.

I just vote that we get on with our lives. Although it was a tragic day on Tuesday, it is time for mourning and to go on. Keep the people updated as real news hits, but lets get something on the air worth watching.

I know the average American. The second the media stops their constant reporting, Americans will forget all about this and go back to being couch potatoes (aside from those in New York). I bet in 2 weeks the percentage of Americans in support of military action drops from 85% to 60% and continue falling. As the poll numbers drops, Democrats will end their support for Bush.
