15days a year ... sucks that we can't accumulate our vacation days, we have a use or lose policy here ... which in hindsight is not too bad, I'm glad some ppl. here take vacations or else they'll go insane ...

In the state of CA, you can't lose your vacation days. The company either has to let you accumulate them, force you to take them, or pay you for them, but you can't lose them.

I don't think that's correct. I'm in CA, here's a quote from our employee handbook: "Unused vacation time will reduce your vacation award for the following year by the number of hours being carried over, so that your maximum vacation time does not exceed your annual award."

I'm pretty sure I'm correct. Your vacation time is hours you have worked for. They are compensation for the hours you have put in. The only way to know for sure would be to make a call to the State Labor Relations Board.

You're correct for Ontario, at least. Vacation is deducted from our biweekly pay. They can't take it away.. if you let it accumulate for a long time...at some point, they'll force us to take it.

2 weeks vacation, unlimited sick days (we can work from home anyway)...

I don't know when the hell I'll be able to afford a real vacation, so it's not like it matters. BTW, why are people stating by hours? I've never heard of that... thought it's always by days... vaca or sick...

3 weeks vacation, 70 hours of comp time and 2 weeks sick time. I can convert 4 sick days to personal days off for use whenever, and I can "buy back" 3 more for cash.

2 weeks of vacation time (~ 81 hours).
about 4 weeks of sick time (~172 hours).
We have a max of like of 6 weeks of time you can accumulate for each. Then it just stays the same until you take time off.
