Ok employees, how much vaction time do you have saved up?

I've got 49 hours of vacation time and 61 hours of sick time. I wish I could trade in sick time for vacation time.

40 sick hrs 60 vacation hrs. i should accumulate another 80 hrs of vacation this year, that i can carry over to next year which i will then get 120hrs on Jan1.

In the state of CA, you can't lose your vacation days. The company either has to let you accumulate them, force you to take them, or pay you for them, but you can't lose them.

In the state of CA, you can't lose your vacation days. The company either has to let you accumulate them, force you to take them, or pay you for them, but you can't lose them.

I don't think that's correct. I'm in CA, here's a quote from our employee handbook: "Unused vacation time will reduce your vacation award for the following year by the number of hours being carried over, so that your maximum vacation time does not exceed your annual award."

I'm pretty sure I'm correct. Your vacation time is hours you have worked for. They are compensation for the hours you have put in. The only way to know for sure would be to make a call to the State Labor Relations Board.
