OK done with my Overclock... I'm happy with the results.

Homerboy

Lifer
Retail 3000+ Venice
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR
2x512 Cosair XMS
Antec NEO Power 480W

Results:

CPU: 2799Mhz (9 x 311HTT) @ stock voltage + 10%
- 41C idle, 46C 100% load
- retail HS/Fan (XP-90 on way just for the sport of it)
RAM: 207Mhz on 2:3 divider
- 2-3-2-6 timings

Best OC experience ever. Was a little tricky getting all the pieces to play together nicely, but with the results it was well worth the headaches. I'm just blown away with this OC... best $ I ever spent on PC parts.

thats a pretty damn good OC .. you should be proud of how high you could get the HTT to go 311

I can push the HTT up past 350 on the DFI actually, but my RAM doesnt quite like it that high 🙂

What is the chip info?

And you tested that 24/7 stable?

Good work.

gj.. but using anything lower than ddr166.. or ddr150 divider will give ya some performance penalty.. perhaps ram upgrade in near future?

I've run it 12hrs overnight stable n/p
Been using it every day for games, encoding, general use, no problems. I'd say its perfectly stable.
I had ONE blue screen, but it was ~82F inside the house so I can't really blame it. Took side of case off and it ran rest of the day fine.

krnxpride83: I see you have a near indetical set up.... What is your RAM timings and speed? I've seen no performance drop with the multiplier in place. They are humming along at 207Mhz perfectly fine at 2-3-2-6 1T

I'm not sure why krnxpride83 believes there's a large performance drop with using a divider...anyone who spends any amount of time in this forum knows dividers aren't very bad at all for A64s.

Very nice OC Homerboy 😀

BTW...if your HTT can do 350...why not use the 100 divider (2:1) & see if she'll go any higher? 😛

Actually I will do just that n7, but gotta wait for my xp90 to get here. I just want to be SAFE and not sorry that I killed such a nice CPU 🙂

And I agree, I don't understand his comment on dividers ESPECIALLY since he's running almost the exact same numbers as me 9x311 vs 9x312. Not to mention he doesn't even know his timings or RAM speed? Makes no sense. He'd have to be running a divider himself for that setup 😕

I like that 350 FSB thingie... I read an article on a new kind of motherboard allowing an FSB/HTT of 400 MHz (and they reached it, CPU-Z verified), but I can't seem to find it...

haha trust me it was dumb blind luck I got it this high.
Check out the stickey in this forum, follow it to the letter, and post post post.

MUCH thanks to rise4310 who helped me through all the initial issues I had and the fine tweaking... this is as much his OC as it is mine 🙂 ... I just get to enjoy it 😛

wow 2.8 at 311fsb is just nuts regardless of cooling, and you did it on stock.....
btw, whats the voltage?

oh, sry my blind eyes didn't see under load😀

thats awesome , then

is that the retail hsf? cause 3500rpm is really good for that temp!
