2500+ has the best value IMO
He'd be better off spending the $8 more for the 2600, if he's wanting 2.5ghz and up.

$100
gets him a 2500+ iqyha0408 which will more than likely hit 2.6 or above.......
Who is selling guaranteed steppings of the XP-M 2500 for $100? Besides, the XP-M 2600 is less (yeah, slightly less) than $100 at newegg, anyway.;)

excaliberPC....they always have the best when it comes to CPU's...especially the ones that are in demand

someone wanna buy a spare one that can do 2.6 on air? :)

actually, i need to retest it with a new sp94 or 97 (whichever is the one for amd) that's comin' in later this week...

with my crappy alx800 and ttsf2 i was able to get it stable at 2.6 ghz running prime for 8 hours @ 1.85 volts... temps were cool because the day i ran it, it was like 40 outside and i have my window open...

i have a 2500+ and a 2600+ mobile that can both do 2.6...

i think like some people i believe that stepping doesn't matter so much... it's just a luck of the draw...

IQZFA 0344 <--- 2600+
IQYHA 0404 <--- 2500+

both are the 45W version

why not get the 2400+??? They all are the same core, just speed graded and binned, yes?
Plus if they fail AMD as a 2600+ and get marked as 2400+, us overclockers overvolt them anyway...

I bought a 2400+ and a SLK-947U, on top of which I mounted my YSTech adjustable 80mm fan, paired with Corsair PC3200c2 on a Chaintech 7NJS.

I am in the neighborhood of 2.5-2.6ghz right now, running 213fsb*12x or so...

Hey, I was wondering if you have tried the Speeze WhisperRock II, and how it compares to the SPeeze FalconRock? It's only a $1 difference on newegg, and it seems like the whisperrock pushes more air while the falconrock uses copper. I'm not sure which one to get. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Jediphx, I just got a 2600 mobile and a Abit nf7-s, if you want to overclock the fsb way up, I think the way to go is the Dfi inifinity or Lan party version of the same board..

I am hitting walls on the fsb, even though I'm using pc3500 ocz limited platinum(bh5 chips), right now I can only get stable is around 218 fsb, without totally volting it up.

I hear every now and then about the abit fsb limitation, anyone want to elaborate on this? I missed this before I ordered my board or I would have gotten the DFI.
