I know recruiters like to see a GPA. Otherwise it looks ok. I say leave education at the top. It is more traditional to leave it at the top.

My understanding is that do not include your GPA unless it is excpetional as in being a 4.0 or Summa Cum Laude or something of that nature.

Also, after you have been in the workplace for a year or so I wouldn't mess with listing course load. Just talking to HR folks, after you are in the 'real world' what you did in college doesn't matter as much as the fact that you have a degree.

Now, granted, that is different if you are doing post-doc and what you are doing in college does matter but that is a curriculum vitae and different anyhow.

I think we should start some sort of resume workshop here at AT. Anybody else interested?

As for yours, I would start by removing the "Goal" section and also "Leadership" and "teamwork" under Core Competencies. It's all unnecessary fluff.

Mr. Stevie Wonder, would you escort Helen Keller to the restroom?

Seriously, so few people really know how to prepare a resume that there would be far more bad advice than good floating around. Take a look at my previous post in this thread; that guy's book is the best thing a job hunter could buy. It covers the entire process from soup to nuts and covers the writing of an effective resume.
