Ok boys, overclocking challenge. Whose up for it?

Just got my duron650 in the mail. What is the easiest and most effective way to unlock this baby. I also heard some oems are already unlocked when shipped. How would I be able to tell if this one is unlocked or not? It's going into an MSI k7tpro2a.

Check the L1 bridges, if they are closed you are a winner of an unlocked Duron.Check here for more info. You can also do a search on unlocking Durons here in the forums. Have fun!!!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "closed."

Check to see if the gold bridges are open or connected at the L1 level.If they are all connected yous is unlocked.

I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell if they are connected or not. Is there an online picture somewhere that could show the differences?

You can tell its either a solid line or it been cut in the middle there are 4 L1 bridges

Well, my CPU really doesn't have mad faces on it.. Guess the message board didn't like my picture components. But the L1 depiction is accurate and I think that's the most important part I wanted to get across. So can anyone tell if this thing is locked or not? It's a duron650.
