OK - Best video card to pair with a P4 2.26GHz?

I am getting on of these new Intel 533Mhz FSB Cpus, and I am pairing it with PC2700...

now all I need is the video card...

I don't want to get too much video card for the CPU, and I don't want to get a video card that does not take advantage of the CPU either...

I am trying to decide between the Radeon 8500LE and the Visiontek Ti4200 64MB.

Which offers the most bang for the buck when coupled with a really fast CPU? Thanks!

I was going to recommend the PNY or Visiontek 128 mb card TI 4400 for speed. That would set you for a long time. I have the R8500 64 mb also. it is an excellent card. The LE model is probably a little slower than the standard R8500 model with 64 mb.

If you want speed, go with the Visiontek. If you want superior color and detail (sharpness), then go with the LE8500.

I have used a retail Radeon 8500 64MB card, and have a 64MB GF4 Ti4200 card now. Of the two, I like the GF4 much better. The Ti4200 is a little faster and the image quality is excellent. The main reason I switched was that I ran into driver issues with the R8500 when I upgraded to 1GB of ram. The R8500 took a 10% performance hit with the extra ram.

Well good luck with any of the GeForce 4 cards with the Pentium 4's, I have had so much trouble with them any more I just tell people if you want a P4 I will use a G3 or get someone else to build for you

Say what??

That made absolutely no sense, DoubleL...

I will be building on an i845E based motherboard. I am looking for speed, a nice feature set and above all... stability.

When does sanything you post have to make sense here, I Build computers and for me anyway it is a pain setting up the cards in a P4 and no problem with the G3's, I have a P4S533 coming back today cause everytime the guy goes to the clock it causes a DLL error on his windows xp, A P4B the driver the guy wanted to use caused a black screen, With a G3 their was no problem with the two computers, Had better luck with the AMD systems but no by much, So I just said hope you have better luck than I have had and I am thinking of not using the G4 cause I don't have the time to keep working on them over and over
