Impressive numbers from that little diesel though.

Very nice motor and could be competitive....

300lb/ft in a truck the size of a Ford Ranger? Who cares how it looks?

They remind me of a 70's era Ford Courier with the rope hooks outside of the bed rail.

76' Ford

Have been following them for a few months, I hope they bring them to the US.

<---- OTR diesel truck mech for 20+years.

Mack trucks were never considered pretty but just kept working very hard...for a very long time. ;)

All those creases and folds in the sheet metal makes for a stiff structure. I bet the frame is fully boxed in the all important forward half.

The article seems to state the frame is fully boxed period.

I like it. Nobody but ford really makes a cheap little truck anymore. I don't need something that can haul 5k lbs in the bed and tow 20k lbs. Just something for taking crap to the dump and picking stuff up from home depot every now and again. Most of the other "compact" trucks are now midsized and priced and get fuel mileage more like full sized.

It's not the prettiest thing on 4 wheels, but I've seen far worse. And it looks like it will be an excellent stout little work truck. Just the thing for a person who wants a cheap truck to run errands.

The question is, how much will it cost?

Yep, was noticing on the drive back from work today, the Nitro/Jeep/Caddy angular thing is actually pretty popular.

I can see owning one if they bring it to the states. They were sold in Australia for a while & went bankrupt, left a lot of pissed off owners. They were just recently reintroduced to Australia.

Nice MPG, but too expensive. With a completely unknown brand, they better drop the price to the floor

If it was $15k they wouldn't keep them on the lots. It's exactly what I said that the US needs. A small, diesel powered truck with a functional sized bed and 30+ MPG on the highway. At 20k you are really pushing the limits of an unknown brand IMHO.

I'd trade my '05 Frontier for one in a heartbeat if crash scores aren't absolutely abysmal and they aren't found on the road in flames in the first year or two of sales here.

Dang, I picked the wrong time to buy a new vehicle :( Something about that truck looks disproportionate to me though. Too long? Maybe it's just those particular pictures.

EDIT: and the interior pics in that brochure are just plain butt fugly. Looks like it belongs in some hippy's VW bus :p

20K is a bit high but i doubt they are targetting that high, they wont have a market at that price. I would say its probably closer to 15K. The reasoning behind it is that even with import duty tax and stuff, i doubt they would price it so high!

Something doesn't look right about that truck. It looks more like one of those off-road utility golf carts.

It doesn't look that bad...I mean, come on, we see Azteks, Scions, Elements, and H2s on the road around here. Now THOSE are fugly vehicles.

that thing could revive the compact truck market.

$20,000 to start is a little high though. you may be able to get a diesel F-150 for that by then.
