so one of our V.P.'s has this problem on her Win XP Pro machine:

she navigates to a webpage that has a link to a .pdf that open in a child window. when you close the child window, it crashes IE. she originally had Acrobat Reader 5.1 installed, so I installed v. 6. didnt help.

she has IE 6.0.whatever with SP1. her admin assistant has the exact same setup (XP, Reader 6, IE 6.0.xxxx) and it doesn't happen to her.

anyone experienced this? i'm clueless..

thanks,
-TekChik 🙂

As far as I know when you close the reader you are closing the browser, you have to click back to the last page . I am always getting caught out with Acrobat Reader, it acts just like a web page, dont close it just click back.

Does she have MS Windows Journal Viewer installed? I've had other buggy conditions with 6.0 until I uninstalled MS Windows Journal Viewer.

When you say the same exact setup - is this in reference to hardware as well? I encountered issues with an ATi card that don't exist with an nVidia card... screwey, I know... but it happened.
