ok PC Probe Temp doesnt go above or under 40c. MotherBoard Monitor gives me a reading of 30c at the minute so is the bios.

thats it for now i am downloading 3dmark2001 and prime right after it.
is there any final intel 845 chip drivers out there other than the one that came with the CD?

youre all set to go there.

make sure you enable DMA on all your drives in windows.
use the turbo1 setting in bios and the overvolt jumper on the board.

DinoGucci flashing to the 1003 bios will fix that temp issue.

<< cuz i sent back the EPOX Sis645 chipset >>

You got the wrong EPOX board. You want the EPOX 4BDA Intel i845 board.

<< Intel baby! >>

Indeed!

Have you upped the core voltage in the bios little by little then stress tested it each step to get it stable @150mhz?;)

Thugsrock - What do you mean by enabling DMA for all drive under windows? Are they disabled @ default?

SupermanCK yes once you install the Intel_inf update it will disable DMA on all drives.

a couple things to help Dino...
set memory by SPD
use turbo1 mode
disable PCI delay
bump the vcore upto 1.775v
disable all USB in bios

as a last resort - remove your NIC

HTH :)

hahah yah remove your nic! not to mention, this is a brandnew board from MWAVE i got it today.
so we will see how things will go

16X150 @ 2400 29c default voltage.
now time for some tests at default voltage.

alot of ppl dont realize what a POS their NIC is - i dont care how much you paid for it or what brand it is ;)
alot of nics wont even run @ 38mhz PCI.

enable DMA from windows system properties / device manager.
check your HD and cdroms then reboot.

:)

ok i noticed that eventho that i am 1.5v in the bios, asus probe reports higher voltage i.e 1.56 @2400. while its in high voltage stage its stable. anycomments?

anyways, i oced my v card 220/465 and i got 8098 @ 2400 31c idle 38c load.

concider yourself lucky.
i wish my voltage read higher then what i set it at ;)
most P4Bs run lower then what its set at.

right now im thinking 2 things....
1) more power is needed.
2) the motherboards just plain cant distribute this kind of power correctly. (i dont mean just the P4B - i mean all P4 motherboards)

just about every P4 overclocker/overvolter there is has flux in their voltages under heavy load.
if those fluctuations werent there, wed all be overclocking alot higher.
my vcore is set at 1.775v - i get 1.74v - under load its 1.66v.
obviously something is very very wrong here.
