They didn't target their killings to eliminate religion though. It was more political\racial.

I'm relatively happy with the current growth rate of atheism, but I certainly wouldn't mind accelerating things with a bit of the old ultra-violence.

I agree. I'm fucking ignorant but I know about the so called religion of islam, than you. That so called religion is not compatible with individual freedoms and democracy.

If it is, I would like to hear about it.

Oh, yes, while you are at that, maybe you could post a link to all those mass demonstrations in the muslim world against the murder of 3,000 people on 9/11. I would settle for just those demonstration by muslims here in the USA.

Pardon me if I mention, but this thread has degenerated into a pissing contest about the relative merits of Islam v Judaism.

But still yah hooray, Israel may have some oil energy assets, but when it comes at the price of shale defraking, the real question is should Israel embrace the short term benefits while ignoring the long term environmental dangers?

Maybe we can say the Israel will reap short term benefits, but when we talk about the so called holy land of Israel, it benefits no one if the holy land becomes a land no humans can live in?

Ever heard of the Crusades? Pretty sure there was a lot of murdering going on then. How about Salem witch trials? Spanish inquisition?

The fact that others have been wrong/stupid has no effect on the fact that the muslims are at their core beliefs, anti-democratic and anti-personal freedom.

I don't think that Muslims have abortion doctors, kind of makes it hard to kill them. Plus if a male doctor sees a female her male relatives can kill her and call it an 'honor killing'

The Crusades... I think I read about them in my ancient history class. But I am sure something that ended 800 years ago can be applied to current events, right?

Salem witch trials, 300 years ago. Spanish inquisition, 200 years ago.

IRA... hey at least you found something that didn't take place in history books. I just hope you realize that the IRA is not actually a Catholic Terrorist group as you term them, but a independence movement by a bunch of people who happen to be Catholic. Their goal is not to fight a religious war against the Church of England, but to fight against the country of England to gain independence for North Ireland.

They were, and that was admirable but religions weren't targeted for elimination. They were too concerned with what they viewed as subversive western ideas and politics making their way into their peoples' minds. I would argue that freedom from government oppression is pointless when so many willingly and pointlessly subject themselves to religious oppression. A lot of the former will be required to eliminate the latter, but ultimately we'll be better off for it.

I never had any "moral authority" to begin with. However I don't believe in a talking sky beardo that watches my every move, so I'm pretty sure I'm still operating at several logical levels above most theists, and many levels above every Muslim.

I would use a very logical, rational process for the elimination of each major religion. Each one would begin with the loss of all state recognition of churches, the destruction of major religious symbols\structures (Seeing a tomahawk cruise missile slam into the Kaaba is a long standing dream of mine,) public shaming of theism in the media and education systems, followed by the establishment of theists as second class citizens, eventually culminating in a choice between theism and life. The choice would vary by religion, but I envision a line of people on their knees with a state agent moving down the line presenting a simple choice, "Renounce Allah and eat this bacon, or die." Any wavering or equivocation would result in death. Similar processes would eventually be worked out for the other major religions.

But like I said, it's easy to stir the cauldron of hatred against Islam right now, and seeing as how they've declared jihad on the west and secularism, it makes them a prime target for pioneering the process with which to destroy an entire religion.
