was changing my spark plugs on my 2005 Mazda3i (100k miles).

2nd plug i removed had engine oil on it 🙁

what does that mean?

How to fix?

What happens if i just put in new plugs and not fix it?

Oil on the tip/electrode or oil on the top area around the insulator?

If the oil is from the top, its a valve cover gasket as Arkaign mentioned, if its on the spark plug tip, you may have internal engine problems (valve guides)

there's oil on the spark plug thread, so i assume tip.
the top area is dry and still clean.

this is in cylinder #3 (if facing the hood, u go from passenger side to driver side.)

in mazda3, i think it fires from Plug #2? so i should be good if i just put the new spark plug into #3 and ignore the oil?

If it's on the threads and not on the tip, it's likely still coming from above, but at a very low rate. I would not worry about it honestly.

I don't see the problem in moving it to another cyl, but I don't think it's required either.

If there was oil inside the cylinder I would expect burnt crap all over that plug. If it's just on the threads it's probably flowing from the head down, not from the combustion chamber up. That's a good thing.
