Oil filter question

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla with 83000 on it. I went out and bought my 4 quarts of Mobil 1
Syntec oil and a FRAM extended guard 7K mile filter at walmart, i thought of going to autozone to get a higher quality filter but i just go lazy i guess. My questions are, how are these filters? I plan on going 8K between the next oil change, will 1000 miles be detrimental to my engine? Is that a reasonable oil change interval in general for synthetic oil? I am not THAT lead footed, so i think ill be okay. This is the first time synthetic oil is being put into the car, if that makes any difference.

Also that i know for next time, can you recommend which oil filter i should use? Celica and MR2 drivers especially. (1ZZFE)

I believe FRAM's higher-end filters are a lot better than their cheap filters.

Walmart's SuperTech brand filters are pretty good also.

I think Purolator's PureONE filters are among the best filters at a reasonable price.

This is true.

Fram are garbage oil filters. I use Napa Gold, which are manufactured by Wix, and are high quality filter.
Well they're both manufactured by Dana, but yeah Wix/Napa Gold is the best filter for the money IMHO.

Well i guess ill just go 7000 miles then, although im sure the oil can go more, and change that filter ASAP!

You can always change the filter without changing the oil, just remember to top the crankcase off.

You're plunking down the cash for Mobil 1 full synthetic oil, and yet you're running a Fram filter? That makes no sense at all😕

The Toyota OEM filters are actually pretty good. That's what I use in my (4AGE) MR2.

No. WIX manufactures filters that are sold as both DANA and NAPA Gold.

FRAM is manufactured by Allied Signal.

Hmm...this site says they're made by Dana, which is what I saw.
However, according to Dana's site, Wix is a subsidiary of Dana, so I guess it'd be more accurate to say Wix is owned by Dana.
