I'll be changing the MINI at 5000, the neon gets it at 5000-7500 and the Grand Cherokee is about every 1000 or so.

I not really a Ford Technician, but I play one on ATOT. 😉

My car, 92 Escort GT w/ 192K miles, is every 3K - 6K miles.

My wife's van, 2000 Windstar w/50+K miles, is every 5K miles.

I would review the owner?s manual and follow the maintenance schedule listed that fits your driving style.

That depends on many factors.....

1. Do you plan on keeping the car for 60-100K?
2. Do mostly short drives, less then 50 miles daily?
Then use a Regular oil like Mobil, exxon, etc... and a decent oil filter (NO FRAM!!) THEN EVERY 3k, If you use Mobil1Syn then every 5-6K

1. Only plan on keeping the car less then 60K
2. Do mostly highway driving, 50 miles a day is nothing to you?
Then use a Regular oil like Mobil, exxon, etc... and a decent oil filter (NO FRAM!!) THEN EVERY 5k, If you use Mobil1Syn then every 8-10K

I change every 5k KMs, which is somewhere around 3-4K miles.. and I use synthetic... I don't care if it's too often, I like the oil coming out kinda clean. 😛

99 T/A and 96 F150 Mobile1 and K&N OF, Change every 10K. Have a 88 Ranger with 170K miles on it did it the same way and Dad just did a rebuild on it because or a water leak and we found no noticeable wear on the cylinders or bearings so I figure it is an OK schedule 😉

Yea Mobil1 is great. They USE to say you could go 50K if you change the filter every 5-10K but their legal department put that to a stop because it could cause to many problems.

I do my cars, and tell my customers to do it every 3K as a lot of times it is not the oil that has gone bad, but all the stuff that builds up in it. But with mobil1 every 6K or depending on car and driving style, 10K is fine.

Just don't use Fram Oil filters or Castrol Syntec.

I've gone 7000 miles since I bought my car without an oil change, and it was probably several thousand before that too since it had one.

Yah, it's a bit due.

5000 is good.

2500-3000 when I had my camaro
3000 with my civic, oil is cheap, change it earlier to be on the safe side

I'm running amsoil in my civic now so I'm not sure when I'll change it.

3K dino, 5K+ synthetic...if you have an old engine (like me, 122,800 miles) you should REALLY change it every 3K just to be sure.

Oil is cheap...a few dollars here and there can really make all the difference, given a $2000+ engine.
