I've only met the guy twice, he is kinda trashy (did a bunch of time for drugs, and apparently more serious things) but, my sister which had a major drug problem (reocurring) as a teenager and later had mental problems, seems very happy with him, and also very stable (which is something I haven't seen from her in years), as long as it makes her happy and stable then I suppose it is a good thing. I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that I am going to have a white-trash brother-in-law (I have no real brothers only a sister). I don't know if he has any brothers and sisters, I have a feeling that this situation is going to be very wierd.

My sister hasn't told my father yet, they're waiting until he get back from a business trip to London, I don't know how he is going to react, I hope that he handles it ok, I really don't think it has set in for me yet.

Like I said though I am really happy for her, she has had alot of problems of being with guys that have physically abused her etc, and I really don't think this guy is that way, I just want my sister to be happy.

Business trip in london. So your atleast middle class? You sister is marrying a looser. He never asked for your dads permission? I see trouble.

Well, you know hte situation better than us, so I hope it works out for you.

He doesn't beat her, that's good.

Well, as long as both of them are getting their lifes on track, GREAT! if they still need friends to have fun, party alot, etc ..... a marriage is a waste of time/money. Are they ready to settle down? How old are they?

Yeah I would say middle or upper middle.

my sister is 27, I'm not sure how old her husband to be is, I always knew this was going to happen because she always hung around trashy guys, it is just kinda hard facing the inevitable. It seems as though they are wanting to get their lives on track so I hope it works out alright .

if they both seem like they are ready to settle down, don't drink, do drugs, party, etc ... i souldn't worry much.

If either of them still goes out and gets bombed "just because", maybe they should wait a while.
God luck

why is it that when a guy doesnt beat your sister its considered a positive thing rather then a neutral thing?

take her fiance to a gun shop and buy any gun then ask the dealer to engrave your sister's fiance's name on a bullet then whisper into his ear and tell him the bullet for him if he mess her up..... hey what are brother's for :Q
