"Free LCD TV.Yes it works perfectly.Yes it has a remote. No i wont deliver. Why is it FREE you ask????? My room mate thought it would be "hysterical" to pause gay porn on my TV while my girlfriend and I were on vacation for 2 weeks, thus burning and image into the screen. So...If you dont mind a sillouette of a skinny white guy taking a load in the face from the biggest black penis in recorded history forever adorning your new TV, Its yours."

That would be one roommate who would subsequently require an extended hospital stay...

LMFAO.

Could be a hot deal, just display a white screen on the TV for a few days or weeks and it might get rid of the old burn in.

There are little utilities which run a sequence which supposedly gets rid of burn in.

from what I understand, they also seriously compromise the color range of pixels. I suppose it's better than having a useless set, but the color range is lessened, and the brightness life of the set is cut in half, or something.

I'm thinking ~2 year-old tech, so I don't really know what's going on these days.

But I'm still all :hmm: after reading LCD + burn-in. Hell, you don't even get it with plasma anymore. IR, sure...but burn-in?

I tried emailing the guy. Craigslist bounced the email back saying the poster used an invalid email address.

I thought LCDs didnt have burn in? :p

I thought the same thing until I had the pleasure of owning 2, yes TWO, Westinghouse LCD TVs that exhibited image burn in. One from the 4:3 sidebars and another from TV's own input menu. On a gray screen image, I could actually read HDMI 1 clearly in the upper right corner even when the input message wasn't even displayed. Quality TVs. Glad I have a Samsung now.
