Ohh dear, I think I am going to faint.

I was talking about AMD in the computer lab, today and the Comp-sci teacher over heard us and said "Is that a computer company ?". WTH ?? And to top it off, I only know of one person besides myself at my school that knows what AMD is.

<--Screams.:disgust:

Face it: computer teachers often don't know about computers. Knowing programming is much different from knowing about computer hardware. Why is this surprising? In college it's usually better.

get out in the "real world" and realise that AMD is never even considered. Its like saying "I wanna build a 10000 node network with 3com gear". Everybody looks at you an laughs.

Not even considered. remarks of "what do they do?" are abound.

Seriously...IT guys make fun of "amdfanboys"
😉

Do you all really think I have no life ? BTW, I'm not really an "AMD fanboy", I just like competition. I am thinking about buying an Intel this summer.

Until Dell starts selling AMD, they're going to relatively unheard of in businesses. I'm typing this with my laptop from work which is the only AMD in the place. It's only a K6-2 though.

who's this "dell" company?

 Thank spidey 🙂

I keep hearing about "dell" but have yet to see anything made by them.
🙂

Seriously. If we walk into a data center with dell gear we automatically think "geez, this is going to be a mess"

And 9/10 times it really is.
