Oh yes, karma is good

I took my dog outside to do his business about 45 minutes ago. While coming in, some little jerks decide it would be fun to cruise past my house yelling obscenities at 11:45PM. It wasn't just random words--they explicitly called me some pretty tardy stuff. The kicker? I don't even know these people. Never even seen their vehicle before.

Since I was up by the house I just opened the door and put the dog in. I had the keys in my pocket so I hopped up into my parents truck and booted it up the corner. My mistake because it is pretty rough conditions out right now but anyhow, I was pissed and wanting to catch up with them. Let me state right here that NO ONE else was out on the roads at this time and road condition on Christmas Eve during this encounter. I would never purposely put the lives of others at risk.

I saw the green little Ford Escape at the corner. I pull up in the right hand lane and motion to roll down the window. Now, I'm not confrontational usually, hell I don't even know what possesed me to do this, but I asked them for an apology. The one riding shotgun yells "fvck you b!tch" and one of the kids in the back threw something through his window which hit the truck. I didn't see what the item was. I think it was just some plastic of some sort. Nothing enough to do damage to the truck but I was still pretty angered by it.

They pull off pretty fast when it hits green and I pursue them. I start keeping pace with them (but not riding them) and they realize I'm now angered. It was never my intention to hurt them. I've never fought in my life but I'm a pretty big guy so that might of made them nervous. Perhaps they were just trying to show off what their little Escape could do. Or maybe they just want to lose me. I don't know and it doesn't really matter. They start doing about 70km/h which is pretty fast (for these conditions). I don't let up.

Jerkoff hit a patch, over-compensated, swerved and ditched the Escape. Not only that but he hit the ditch right where the driveway goes over and the pipe is exposed. So picture him sliding from the right side (of a now single lane road) to the left side and going into a ditch. The front left corner of his vehicle basically hit the ditch pipe where it comes out and his right side was in the air.

I feel pretty bad about this now though. I'm kind of nervous I might somehow get in trouble? Can they get me on anything? I didn't verbally, or through any gestures threaten them even once so I'm not liable for anything am I? Probably worried over nothing.

Cliff's Notes:
- Kids drive past house and yell some rude things while I'm bringing dog inside
- I jump in truck and catch up at the corner, roll down window and ask for apology
- They are rude again, throw something at my parents truck and speed off
- I follow them and they speed up
- They hit patch and ditch their Ford Escape

Don't think so, but if they did try press charges they might have the advantage of fake witness. I'm guessing they don't know the liscence plate number of the truck though.

Yeah but they know where I live :/

ugh this sucks. I have no clue who they are. I hope they don't try to act out some revenge now.

Go walk your dog again and take :camera:'s!!!!

#1 He was pooping on the lawn and not walking.

#2 Where they ditched it is about a km away.

#3 No way in hell I'm going to a scene I may have caused. I'm kind of sh!tting right now. Is there road rage laws? Could it possibly be construed as threatening them with my vehicle?

whatever, there are so many stories you could make up...you were running out to the corner store, etc. If they claim you were tailing them, they'll have to explain exactly why they were in your area to begin with.

What a great gift 😀

#3) Possibly...but in order for them to say anything, they'd have to come up with a reason for you to have brought your dog back inside and still been pissed off enough to chase them a kilometer down the road..and that's still no excuse for his losing control of the vehicle.

..just imho.

I'd be a little careful around the house from now on

Thing is I'm on school break right now for the holiday. I don't even live here fulltime so I'd hate for them to do something on my parents :/ I'd definitely snap their little necks if I caught wind of that.

But they saw the dog (his brother was inside--we have two) and me (I'm 6'4 and pretty broad shouldered) so they may be a little nervous of coming around here I hope. These were run-of-the-mill high school seniors that, from what I could tell, had no weight on them.

Then again they were ballsy little mouths so they probably would be the type to fight me or do something stupid to my parents house *sigh*.
