Good movie

One interesting aspect of it is that it pitted Soviets against the Nazis, and had nothing to do with the US at all. Not your typical Hollywood fare.

Usually, when a movie is made, it is made in the language of its intended audience. This is because teaching actors russian and german, just so people can complain about subtitles is not cost-effective.

I really like that movie, though. It gets extra bonus points for being a WWII movie that dosen't involve americans saving the day. It was nice to see a movie about war on the eastern front.

Yeah, great movie. Ed Harris gave a great performance there. Loved the way they portrayed snipers too, they're more realistic than some other sniper movies (and movies that have snipers in them) that I've seen.

BTW Has anyone read the actual historic accounts on Vasili Zaitsev? I've read one such account in the book Sniper by Adrian Gilbert, and his accounts are very different from what was portrayed in the movie. Any comments?
