Student employees on the other hand, ARE part of the university community, and the whole point of ANY department at a university is to SERVE the university's students. Without the students, there wouldn't BE a university, much less a lockshop. That's what pisses me off.
Well, at the company I work for, everyone contracts first for a year or so then gets invited to go perm. They have lots of events and product giveaways and stuff, so it must suck having to work while the others are having fun. Most times I would rather take off early than go to these events, as do most other perm employees, but I would think it would suck for the contractors. I know some of it is security related...no one outside the company gets to play with the new toys earlier kinda thing, but sheesh. Let them have a beer and a shrimp!
