OH WOW!

My how times have changed. My Pioneer DVD 305S benches higher with a DVD in it than my 2GB Seagate Barracuda that's on the same chain. (in Sandra, signifigant difference)

DVD: 4700
HD: 3300

btw, would the sandra test file size being larger than the freespace be causing low scores?

That was going to be my first question...how much free space do you have on your Barracuda? I would be very sad if my DVD drive was faster then any of my hard drives.

Actually, the test file Sandra used was larger than the partition that it was testing. But the DVD is quite fast and the HD is quite old.

I figured as much...2GB. But still, I would freak if my SCSI DVD was faster then even my IDE hard drives...just doesn't seem right.
