2. how the heck to overclock it?

I have one of those cards too (Albatron no less), it IS awesome. Do as Schadenfroh says and get ahold of the Coolbits registry file to enable the overclocking tab in the NVidia Control Panel. Also, I would like to recommend you trying the 43.45 drivers before you try the 44.03 drivers. They have worked better with the card for me. You can download them HERE directly from the NVidia website.

4800SE is effectively a GF4 Ti4400 w/AGP 8X. It should generally outperform both the FX5600 non-Ultra and 9500 non-Pro in the vast majority of situations. Granted it's performance lead does tend to decrease dramatically with FSAA/AF applied but it'll usually hold onto an advantage.
In terms of feature set it is of course relatively weak compared to the FX 5600/R9500.

With the Display Properties GUI open, click the Settings tab. Then click the Advanced button. Then click the GF4 Ti 4800 SE tab. On the side panel that pops out when you select that Tab, click the Clock Frequencies item, it's towards the middle of that panel. There you'll be able to adjust Core and Memory speeds. Have fun!

If you installed Coolbits then you have this option. PM me with your email address and after I get home later tonight I'll email you a coolbits.reg that I KNOW works.

i really have messed with the overclocking......any ideas about how high it can go? i mean the games run fine even at stock. so i dont see the point yet in overclocking.....

what about my friends geforce? you think his is F'ed up or is it just a driver issue? it will just crash after 2 -3 hours of testing with 3dmark2001SE with a blue screen that says something about nv4_disp.dll???

Lemme know your thoughts.....

Thanks...

What is your stock speed, and what are you OC'ing up too? if it initially never crashed and now it does.. then it has to do w/ the video OC most likely.. Try bumping it down, start at about a 10% increase and work your way up.
