I know there have been a lot of credit card threads lately on ATOT, but I just have to share this anyway. Today I will be paying off my credit cards, bringing the balance to *zero.* I know there is nobody to blame for my debt except my self; my only excuse is that most of my debt was due to the car being broken down all the time.

That said it feels great now knowing that I can start saving for a house, and have a little bit of spending money outside of simply bills and food. I have gotten rid of my old car now and gotten a new car with great warranty. I'm making a promise to my self right now that I won't make purchases on my credit card which I don't already have the cash for (a very easy habit to fall into).

What a great feeling knowing my money is now my own; and I'm no longer flushing it down the toilet with 19% interest.

I'm paying my card off tomorrow - I go to the bank to pay directly because I've had trouble with mail payments and with auto pay and transfers. I used the card to pay for insulin, which costs me $135/mo for Novolog and $110/mo for Lantus, during the months that I haven't had health insurance or some kind of charity program.

What a great feeling that I'll be able to continue to charge my insulin again in an emergency.

EDIT and congrats to you! Way to Go!

I just started to pay mine off. Got about 5k to pay off that accumulated over my final year in school. Now that I'm out and working it should be pretty easy to pay off within a few months.

I dont know how you ATOT'ers do it...seems like having a zero credit card balance each month and a trophy super model wife at the same time would be next to impossible....

Don't have a credit card, don't have an overdraft, don't have any loans (except student) problems avoided.

Congratulations however.

It's because of our 7-figure income, half of it from stock market investments earning more than 1,000% per year.

That covers the mansion, exotic car, supermodel wife, h & b, gold coins, gun collection, etc.

But seriously, nice work dpodblood. Now keep spending less than you make for awhile longer to build up some savings so you can stay out of debt even if you get some unexpected bills or change jobs.

Yes, congrats to you.

I am working on paying mine off before my student loans come due here in a couple months. Only about 2,200 left to get rid of by April.

Trophy wife is on drugs. She has no idea that the diamond I gave her is actually a piece of broken glass I found in a parking lot.
