This is what's wrong with American humor. It has been dumbed down to the point where it isn't funny anymore. Arrested Development was the last show I remember that was subtle, and it died many years sooner than that god awful two and half men show. 3 years vs something like 10 years?

Eh, to be fair I think it's more a problem with political cartoons (which have apparently always been terrible going back to the 1800's and probably earlier, per a few American history atlases I own).

They need to be more edgy. Obama should be depicted as a slave and the owner would wear a shirt that says "insurance industry."

During the last fed election, someone should have made a cartoon of senator McCain handing a razor to his wife who is dressed in a bath robe. The caption would say "I like Bush but the polls say the country doesn't like Bush"

There should be one of Obama wearing a bikini at a brothel. Caption "no I don't suck ass at this job too"
